Intro to Quarto of the Moon and the Calamity of 2020

Updated: Jan 31, 2021

The writing of Quarto of the Moon and the Calamity of 2020 began in the spring of 2020 when I heard the History Center in Woodstock, Vermont, was looking to collect personal accounts about how COVID-19 is impacting area residents.

As our northern clime hones one’s interest in the forces of nature and having resided in and around Woodstock for decades, I know that after winter’s long, dark months spring revelations never fall short.

No matter the time of year, for me writing is always problematic so I took it season-by-season and always late to the party, each is published here well after the fact.

Another note is that there are two moons referenced. First, of course, is our celestial moon and the other is our home that we named Back of the Moon .
